Sae Itoshi, a fellow player, cast doubt on Shuto Sendo's role as the ace striker. Sae's criticism stemmed from Sendo's missed scoring opportunity, leading him to assert that someone with a lower scoring ability than a midfielder is unfit to be a striker. Appearance[]

Sendo is a tall, lean, and handsome young man who has tragus-piercing, short, reddish salmon slightly fluffy hair with two side bangs, the one on the left being longer on the right, reaching his chin; meanwhile, the one on the right is reaching his cheek. There are small undercuts underneath and thin pale red eyes with long eyelashes. He is mostly seen with a calm or negative look on his face.

Personality[]

Those questioning his position as the ace striker of the U-20 team make Sendo feel insulted, and during the match against Blue Lock, he pushes himself and wants to become better, deciding to aim higher and marry a Hollywood actress instead of a Japanese gravure idol that he previously settled for.

Sendo tends to be arrogant and confident in his own skills. He comes off as annoying, blabbering about all his accomplishments, easily being provoking and loud to anyone. He never hesitates to talk back to people who irritate him, making him seem like an assertive person. He refuses to let go of his ego, having a big passion for soccer.

Abilities[]

Archetypes[]

  • Forwards: Also known as strikers, have the main objective of scoring goals. They are often the players who get the most attention since their role is designed to be in a scoring position. They also take part in penalty kicks and corner kicks when the opposing team kicks the ball out of bounds. They are normally the players in charge of starting off the game at the start and halftime.
  • Second Striker: A striker whose role is to create chances and scoring opportunities for the other/main striker in their team. Second strikers usually play just in front of the main striker.
    • Sendo's ability to play as a second striker shined where he dropped into midfield to act as Shido's shadow as well in the U-20 team. He also assisted Baro in Ubers, scoring when the ball was in second play. His all-round play as well as his willingness to contribute wherever he can show great tenacity, a good technical base in every phase of the game, and immense work rate and stamina.

Skills[]

  • Poaching: When the ball is in critical moments, Sendo acts quickly on both offense and defense. Sendo was able to score a goal after the ball deflected off Hyoma Chigiri's block for Baro.
  • Box-to-Box Play: In the U-20 match against Blue Lock, Sendo managed to make a goal line clearance after Bachira's monster dribbling. Right after he made the clear, he was a part of the counterattack, being able to get on the other side of the pitch for a shot before Nagi and Baro came in to block it. Sendo also saved Ubers from losing when he stopped Yo Hiori feint shot.
  • Pressing: Sendo was able to press on Isagi for Niko to steal the ball from him.
