Plot[]
Second Selection Arc[]
Shido earns a rank of 111 during the first phase of the Second Selection. He is introduced during the second stage when Reo and Kunigami encounter him on a rampage and injuring other players after losing his last game.[1] Just as Shido is about to injury Igarashi, whom he teamed up with, Kunigami steps in to defend his former Team Z teammate. Shido asks Kunigami if he is a knight in shining armor, but Kunigami explains that he hates violence and is here to play soccer. Shido chides his "outdated, idealistic, peace-loving senility called 'sportsmanship'" but challenges him to a match.[2]
Kunigami asks Reo if he is ok with matching against Shido, being that Shido is identified the top goal-scorer on a different wing during the first selection,[3] but Reo considers their odds of losing low since Igarashi is Shido's partner. TShido and Igarashi win the match with a score of 5 or 2 and pick Reo to join their team, eliminating Kunigami.
Shido is a part of the 7th and final team to clear the Second Selection along with Igarashi, Reo, Sokura, and Kurona. He is noted to have been the only other player in Blue Lock beside Rin Itoshi to have been able score a goal against the World Five.
Third Selection Arc[]
As the 2nd ranked player at conclusion of the Second Selection, Shido is assigned to team with Rin Itoshi to head Team A. The two demonstrate incompatible play styles with constant arguing on the field. Despite this, Team A manages to win all 4 matches during the Third Selection.
U-20 Arc[]
Shido was elimiated from Blue Lock due to his aggression and inability to get along with other players. However, he is chosen by Sae Itoshi to play on the Japan U-20 team in their match against Team Blue Lock. He is brought onto the field during the second half of the game after Sae threatens to quit playing unless he is brought onto the field. He shows great chemistry playing with Sae, and ultimately scores 2 goals during the game.
Neo Egoist League Arc[]
Shido selects to play with Paris X Gen. He plays during all 4 tournament matches and scores a total of 4 goals, tying with Kaiser and Isagi for 3rd rank among goals scored.
During the First Round of bidding, Shido wins a 20,000,000 Yen bid from Ajajax, which is the fourth highest behind Rin, Bachira, and Kunigami. His bids steadily increase over the course of the tournament, with his final bid of 160,000,000 Yen coming from Paris X Gen. This bid ranks him in 3rd place, securing himself a spot on the Japan U-20 team.
U-20 World Cup Arc[]
Shido is not selected as a starter for Japan's opening game against Nigeria. [4]
