Hyoma Chigiri[]

Kunigami and Chigiri develop a friendship early on in Blue Lock, with the Egoist Bible noting that they often chose to spend time with each other between games. Chigiri would join Kunigami to do his leg care while Kunigami worked out, and Kunigami would wait for Chigiri to finish doing his hair, even when other members of Team Z were frustrated with how long he took. In the Additional Time shorts, Kunigami immediately traded his food with Chigiri when he requested it, and Kunigami brought Chigiri a headband when he saw him struggling with how to style his hair, being patient with him when he couldn't pick a style. During one scene, Kunigami gets Chigiri his water bottle for him without prompting. They can also be seen fist bumping, high fiving, and commenting on each others strengths during several panels throughout the First and Second selections.

During the Second Selection, Kunigami and Chigiri chose to team up together, wanting to also work with Isagi or another member of Team Z. When it turned out Isagi had already gone ahead, they decided together to join forces with Reo. The two appeared to be very close during their time together in the second selection, teaming up against Isagi when they see him again, both upset he went ahead of them. The Additional Time shorts during the second selection show the two hanging out separately from Reo, especially with Reo being upset that Nagi did not pick him. As they got ready to play against Isagi's team, Kunigami wondered if it's normal for him to feel so excited, and Chigiri replied that his excitement must've come from being teamed up with him. During the match, the two continue to be supportive of each other, even interacting with only each other rather than also with Reo.

When they end up losing to Isagi's team, both are distraught, with Chigiri appearing even more upset when Isagi selects him to join his team. As he's leaving, Chigiri tells Kunigami that he'll be waiting for him to come win him back, since they still need to beat Isagi together as they promise to do beforehand.
