Promise (
Overview[]
After winning their 3-on-3 match, Isagi, Nagi, and Baro must choose which player they want to add to their team: Kunigami, Chigiri, or Reo.
Summary[]
As Baro, Nagi, and Isagi look at their defeated opponents, Baro states he wants Kunigami since he is good at hanging onto the ball and his physique would give them more opportunities on the front line, which would allow Baro to score more goals. Nagi argues the best pick would be Reo since he can set up shots and has a good balance between offense and defense.
Baro and Isagi acknowledge Nagi's point with Isagi identifying that Reo would help their team jell, but he also worries that would smother their possibility. While having a balanced team would be the correct move, Isagi feels the key to passing the Second Selection will be to create chemical reactions. Isagi explains that the only reason they were able to win was because of how Isagi devoured Baro and Baro devoured him back. From this, Isagi wants someone who can devour them all so that they can defeat the top 3.
Isagi names Chigiri to join their team seeing him as the only one who won't disappear in their chemical reaction. As Chigiri leaves his teammates, he tells Kunigami not to forget that they still haven't beaten Isagi yet. "I'll be feeling the exact same frustration as you while I wait for you, Hero."
Nagi approaches Reo, telling him that he has amazing abilities and that the game could have gone either way. Reo insinuates that if Nagi's words are true, then Nagi should pick him. He tells Nagi that he doesn't need his reassurance and suggests that Nagi doesn't give a damn about him anymore and should just throw him away. He accuses Nagi of changing and forgetting their promise to become the best in the world together.
Nagi suggests that Reo is the one who has forgotten their promise, that becoming the best in the world will not be simple. He calls Reo a pain, and that he doesn't care anymore. Isagi tells Reo to not be the person who gets chosen but to instead be the one who gets to choose. He asks why Reo is even in Blue Lock since only someone capable of becoming the world's best striker will survive in Blue Lock.
As the others walk off the field, Kunigami picks Reo off the ground by his jersey telling him to not look down, that if he takes his eyes off of them, then it will be over for the two of them.
