"The Lead Actor's Stage" (主役の座 (ステージ) , Sutēji^?) is the 64th chapter of Blue Lock manga series.

Overview

The 3-on-3 match continues with Isagi, Nagi, and Baro on Team White playing against Team Red, formed by Kunigami, Chigiri, and Reo. The current score is Team Red 4 - Team White 3.

Summary

Lying on the ground after the last play, Baro sees the scoreboard with his team down 4 to 3, and struggles to understand why he hasn't been able to score a single goal when he should be the king of the field.

In a flashback to his childhood, Baro reflects that for as long as he has played soccer, he saw himself as the lead actor with other players only existing to support him. Not understanding how someone could be happy to be a sidekick, Baro stopped trying to understand others and instead threw himself into training. He took pleasure in dragging other hard-working players off the stage.

Returning to the present match, at the restart, Baro attempts a long distance shot, but the ball is deflected by the goalkeeper and hits the post. When Kunigami grabs the rebound, he is blocked by Nagi and so passes to Reo. As Isagi attempts to intercept the pass, Reo kicks the ball away, which lands back in Baro's area.

As Baro approaches his ideal shooting range, he is blocked by Chigiri. As he continues to try to shoot, he sees that Isagi is wide open. Baro passes to Isagi, not understanding why he made the pass. As Baro falls to the ground, he sees Isagi score with a direct shot and realizes that Isagi has become the lead actor, making Baro a mere supporting actor. Isagi thanks Baro for the pass, calls him a loser, and intstruct Baro to support his goals.

Chapter Notes

- Baro's flashback is shown.

- Baro takes the ball for himself and tries to score but the ball is deflected by the goalkeeper and the rebound is recieved by Kunigami.

- Pressed by Nagi, Kunigami passes to Reo. Isagi almost steals the pass but Reo kicks it away only to be recieved by Baro.

- Baro thinks of shooting but when pressed by Chigiri, unconsciously passes the ball to Isagi who scores with a Direct Shot.
