Chance Encounter (邂逅 (かいこう) , Kaikō^?) is the 57th chapter of Blue Lock manga series.

Summary

Kunigami, Reo, and Chigiri practice their coordination, passing the ball to each other, and in the end, Chigiri scores a goal.

Chigiri wonders if Isagi had made it on to the next round, and even though they're all determined to move on as well, Kunigami states they need to take their time and not rush things. He also states that winning against Nagi, Bachira, and Isagi is their main goal, so they can move forward in the selection and collect stronger players.

Reo says that he doesn't care as long as he can make Nagi say he needs him again, and when Chigiri asks if it's affection, Reo corrects him and says it's revenge.

Isagi flashbacks to what Naruhaya had said, how he was a "genius in terms of adaptability," and decides that the next person he needs to adapt to is Baro.

He sits down next to Baro in the dining room and asks him what his ideal match is like and what kind of football he wants to play. Baro replies with a self-centered answer, saying how he wants his opponents to move for the sake of his own goal. Isagi tries to change his current, selfish mindset to a more cooperating one, trying to convince Baro that team play is important if you want to score goals in football. Baro tells Isagi that he should've chosen Naruhaya instead, but Isagi continues trying to convince Baro, saying that if the 2 worked together and paired up, he could make Baro's skills stand out more than they already are. Baro takes in what Isagi says but goes back to his "king" attitude and leaves as he had finished his meal, telling Isagi that he should just do what he says in the end.

Isagi acknowledges Baro's talent, but because he's not putting it to use with his teammates, he's "a waste of a genius." Isagi notices his muscles are firm as he bathes in the 3rd Stage: Public Bath Area and believes it's because of following Baro's training. His thoughts are interrupted when someone splashes soap on him and notices it was Kunigami. The two catch up in a large hot tub, and as Isagi asks Kunigami who he's currently with, Chigiri enters the scene and answers that he's with him.

Kunigami and Chigiri mess with Isagi as they ask why he didn't wait for them, to which Isagi responds that Nagi had invited him, and Nagi makes himself known, swimming in the hot tub and claiming that he was "relaxing."

Baro appears and scolds Nagi for swimming in the public hot tub. Nagi makes ninjutsu and blows bubbles, getting scolded even more. Then, Baro turns to the others and makes sure they're following good hygiene, surprising Chigiri and Kunigami as they didn't expect Baro to act this way.

As Nagi says he is dizzy and Baro continues scolding him for swimming, Chigiri asks Isagi who their next opponent is. Reo appears and admits that he teamed with Kunigami and Chigiri just to go up against Isagi, Nagi, and Baro. Nagi is excited to see Reo again and tells him that he's improved, but Reo doesn't want to hear it and cuts him off. The two teams decide to go against each other in order to make it to the next round.
