Overview[]
The last match of the First Selection continues between Team V and Team Z. Team Z will need to win if their team is to advance in Blue Lock. The score is tied 4 - 4, with less than 3 minutes remaining.
Summary[]
As Isagi approaches the goal, Nagi's sudden appearance cause Isagi's goal scent to disappear. Frustrated, Isagi asks why Nagi he is there. Nagi acknowledges that Isagi is the biggest threat on the field right now. Isagi does not know what to do as Bachira's pass approaches both Isagi and Nagi. Isagi runs toward the empty patch before Nagi can get it. While running, Isagi remarks that he will have to outdo Nagi's trapping skills. Because of this, Isagi loses confidence, knowing he is unable to do the outrageous traps that Nagi can do. Isagi believes that Team Z's victory is now impossible since he is no longer able to picture the goal.

Isagi scores a goal with a direct shot
Across the field, Chigiri calls for Isagi to pass to him, while Kunigami also asks Isagi for a pass. Isagi then remembers scoring his own goals in previous matches, remembering Ego's lesson about the formula to produce goals. Isagi believes that the missing puzzle piece is his trapping; Isagi believes he will lose to Nagi since he does not possess the same trapping skills. With that in mind, Isagi rejects the idea of trapping the ball and instead finds his missing puzzle piece to be a one-touch shot. The Team V goalkeeper is unable to stop Isagi's direct shot, allowing Team Z to take the lead with the score now 4 - 5.

Reo can't believe that he lost
On the other side, Zantetsu and Reo cannot believe what happened. Reo cannot accept the fact that he lost. Nagi tells Reo they still have time; if they can score two more goals, they can still win. Upon saying this, the buzzer rings to signalize the end of the match. Having experienced his first loss, Nagi tells Reo that it feels frustrating to do his best but still lose.
