"Overcoming Weakness" ( (じゃく) (てん) (こく) (ふく) Jakuten Kokufuku?) is the twenty-first chapter overall of the Blue Lock - Episode Nagi spin-off, written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura and illustrated by Kota Sannomiya.

Overview[]

The 3-on-3 match continues with Nagi, Chigiri, and Baro playing against Hiiragi, Zantetsu, and Niko. The latter team is ahead with a score of 3 - 0.

Summary[]

Chigiri and Baro resolve to overcome their weaknesses so that the opposing team does not steal Nagi from them. Hiiragi is feeling confident, expecting that they will be able to deliver the final blow to win the match.

At the restart, Chigiri runs into the crowd formed by Niko and Zantestu to drag them into a jungle jam run; clustering their opponents allows Nagi and Baro to move freely on the field. Nagi passes to Baro, and Baro unexpectedly passes to Chigiri, calling himself the most unexpected mutant in history. Baro admits that he feels pissed about having to pass, feeling he is about to boil and break into hives, but he states that he will pass so long as it is not to Isagi.

Hiiragi considers Baro to be a nomad lion who has lost its throne, abandoning his pride to become king again. With imagery of a lion and a panther representing Baro and Chigiri respectively, Baro asks Chigiri to pass to him, but Chigiri takes the shot to win their teams's first goal.

At the restart, Baro steals the ball from Niko and passes to Chigiri. Chigiri suggests to Niko that he chose the wrong team before passing the ball back to Baro. Baro is challenged by Zantetsu but is still able to make a goal. Chigiri scores the next goal, making the score 3 - 3.

After Baro scores another goal, Hiiragi becomes frustrated at the prospect of losing the game, regretting the teammates he selected. Hiiragi resolves to win the game on his own strength, intending to make the others on the field his puppets. Nagi steals the ball from Hiiragi recognizing that there is nothing he can do about his ignorance of soccer at the moment, so he decides to forget trying to conquer his weakness. Nagi reflects on how Isagi and Reo believed in him, and he no longer has them, so he will need to believe in himself.

As Nagi leverages himself against Hiiragi to perform a bicycle kick and score a goal, Hiiragi tells Nagi "you're death itself". With the score ending 3 - 5, Nagi is pleased that he has conquered his weakness, believing that he can now fight on his own, even without Isagi and Reo.
