Summary[]
English Wing, 20 days earlier
Chris Prince asks Nagi what his ideal soccer style is. Nagi replies that he wants to beat Isagi, and when pressed further, Nagi does not know how to respond beyond not wanting to lose to Isagi. When Chris says that is not enough to become the world's best, Nagi responds that he hasn't thought about being the world's best yet. Nagi admits that doesn't know much about soccer and has never thought about tactics before. Previously, he relied on Reo or Isagi to pass to him.
After doing analysis on Nagi's physical skills, Chris tells Nagi that his trapping ability relies on moments where his body loosens, making his body a cushion to receive the ball. Chris admits that Nagi's fluidity and elasticity surpasses his own. However, Nagi has almost no creativity and his style of play, making moment-to-moment reactions, is "pure dependence". When Chris suggests to Nagi to change his ideal, Nagi replies, "that kinda seems like a pain."
Agi enters the room and tells Chris that he finds Nagi interesting and asks to help train him. Agi tells Nagi that there are two ways that things can be a pain. When Nagi asks who Agi is, Agi replies that he is a weirdo who likes rare creatures. Chris states that Agi is a pathological soccer analyst, who they call "the doctor". Agi suggests that Nagi start with a trap that lets him rebuild from zero. Chris agrees and feels this will allow Nagi to create his own style of soccer.
Returning to the idea of two different types of pain, Agi explains that the first kind of pain, "passive pain", is when you don't want to do something but have to. The second kind, "active pain", is when you think of something you want to do, and that type of pain will make you grow.
Nagi's juggling shot
Bastard München vs Manshine City match
On the field, Isagi reflects that Nagi's new trap was meant to cut off the flow of the game. Agi jumps into the air to receive a pass, and Isagi is impressed by Agi's long limbs. As Gagamaru prepares to defend a shot, he calls Agi a mid-air demon. Agi turns a powerful shot into a pass towards Nagi. The defender covering Nagi tells Nagi that he can't make the shot if he doesn't give him time to land. However, Nagi says that he does not need time to land, as he performs a juggling shot towards the net.
Yukimiya stops Nagi's shot
Yukimiya blocks Nagi's shot with the side of his head, causing his glasses to fall off and the ball to go over the net. Nagi tells Yukimiya that he as guts. Yukimiya asks Nagi if he has graduated from thinking everything is a pain, and Nagi answers yes, that he is underdevelopment.
