"Disposition" (
Summary[]
Atsuto Tereasa exclaims that the Blue Lock Eleven have just blocked the Japan U-20's corner kick, and with only two minutes remaining, the final counterattack is starting. Yo Hiori is in possession of the ball and is wondering where to send the ball to break through while Shuto Sendo and Kento Cho pressure him. Counting himself, Hiori counts Seishiro Nagi and Shoei Baro in front of him and the three Japan U-20 defenders in front of the goal. Hiori thinks that he wants to finish things with this counterattack in the most effective way possible. Hiori keeps wondering who he should pass the ball to when, out of nowhere, Rin Itoshi comes from his side and fiercely steals the ball away. Rin's theft surprises Hiori, and Rin looks absolutely angry as he stares, thinking about the meaning of "brothers," "revenge," and "rivals." He wonders who cares about Sae Itoshi, Yoichi Isagi, or anybody from Blue Lock. Everything binding him feels awful, and as he rushes down the field, Isagi is surprised, Nagi notes how fast he is going, and Meguru Bachira looks over, perplexed. Rin realizes he is being held back because he was always seeking answers externally, never finding them within himself. He realizes now what Sae meant all those years ago when he cut him off, and Rin agrees that he was being halfhearted; he was the one who was awful. The one who he must destroy is not anybody else but himself, and at that moment Rin Itoshi enters Flow State, surprising both Isagi and Sae. With angry but focused trance-like eyes and his tongue out while drooling, Rin finally reaches his challenge-centered focus. Isagi tries to call to Rin to form a coordinated attack but then realizes Rin can't hear him and then notices Rin starts drifting off to the left side instead of continuing running down the middle.
Isagi questions what Rin is doing, deviating from the most optimal route, but Teppei Neru confronts Rin, who notices Rin's tongue out and calls it rude. Rin thinks that Neru can drop dead and get out of the way because his weapon is speed, and Rin will beat him at his own game. Rin baits Neru into chasing the ball by purposely moving it from out under him into a place where Neru could possibly steal it. As Neru runs for the opening, Rin uses his left foot to skillfully tap the ball through Neru's legs, and he bursts past him, beating him in a contest of speed. Rin's skillful but aggressive close quarters technique dumbfounds Neru. Isagi is watching, thinking Rin has gone crazy because this is completely different from Rin's normal playing style because his movements lack rationality, and as Rin leaves Neru behind, he returns to the middle of the field with Isagi.
Miroku Darai meets them, who tries to stop Rin, and Rin thinks that this is a massacre, so he is next. Rin notes that Darai's weapon is slipping in behind people, so he will beat him at his own game, and then he no look passes the ball to Isagi. Rin, with a ferocious look, charges past Darai, and Darai notices that Rin is trying to use the Iron Wall Defense's weapons against them as if he is trying to not only beat them at their own game but crush their spirits in the process. Rin jukes past Darai, but as Darai catches up slightly, Isagi passes the ball back to Rin, and Darai tries to intercept the pass, but Rin holds Darai back from turning by putting his hand on his back as he traps the ball with the back heel of his foot. Darai is utterly infuriated at Rin's aggressive yet skillful display, and Rin thinks that the second defender is destroyed.
The third defender, Kazuma Nio, comes forward to intercept Rin and says if Rin wants to have a 1v1, then he will go all in. Rin, still completely focused on outright beating Nio, thinks to himself that Nio's weapon is the power of his torso and using it in duels, so Rin decides to challenge him to Nio's preferred type of fight, a pressure duel. Rin stops and lets the ball fly into an open space in front of him, and Nio, surprised knowing what Rin is doing, decides to take the bait and charge forward to steal the ball and end the counter. As Nio charges forward, Rin steps over the ball, keeping his center of gravity low to unbalance the high-speed high center of gravity tackle Nio is performing to completely off-balance him and have Nio roll off his back. As Nio falls to the ground, he realizes Rin exploited the force of his charge and took him out from below. Tereasa is utterly baffled at the move, exclaiming Rin is past Nio and that he narrowly avoided a foul. All alone, Rin is breaking through the Iron Defense as the display stuns Nagi and Tabito Karasu. On the sidelines, Jinpachi Ego watches the game unfold and explains that Rin is drawing out his opponents' strongest weapons and then beating them with them in a display of supremacy, noting that this is Rin's Flow State and that he is an utter madman. Isagi looks over, confused at Rin, thinking this is not the Rin he knows. Isagi describes Sae Itoshi's play style as one of perfect calculation that destroys the opponent beautifully, while Rin's is the complete opposite; he brings out the best from the field and destroys all of it in an aggressive and nasty show of dominance. As Rin reaches the goal, the last defender, Oliver Aiku, comes forward, ready to face Rin. He says Rin has a pretty warped disposition for a young prodigy, and Rin faces him, thinking he just has one more person to beat.
