"One Mind in Two Bodies" (
Summary[]
The crowd goes absolutely wild as the sportscaster and sports commentator announce Baro's super goal, which officially ties the game. Yoichi Isagi, Seishiro Nagi, and Tabito Karasu run to Baro ecstatic as they roar in triumph together with Baro at his goal. Isagi grabs Baro's face and begins asking him how he pulled that goal off when Baro gets uncomfortable and throws him off. Baro answers by saying there's nothing mysterious about his play; from start to finish, he was moving with the intent of stealing the spotlight from Isagi. Isagi rebuts that at one point, Baro just vanished and that he even aimed for that last moment, but Baro replies that he didn't vanish but the Japan U-20 defense erased him. Baro's style of "stealing from Isagi" was read instantly, so he moved onto focusing on the next stage of his style, "devouring Isagi's best plays." Baro admits he can't predict what Isagi can do, but he knows somebody who can and points at Rin Itoshi. Baro knew Rin would react to whatever Isagi did, and by targeting that relationship, he was able to get in front of the goal; all he had to do was lie, wait, and then attack by charging through the penalty zone.
Karasu smiles at Baro, calling his thinking "hecked" as usual, and Nagi comments that his way of thinking is very king-like. Isagi interjects, saying that he's not moving alone when he is linking up with Rin if Baro is supposed to be moving while focusing on him, so Isagi asks how Baro can visualize such a solution. Isagi's questions confuse Baro, and he explains that to him, Rin and Isagi are so synchronized that they already look one in the same. This confuses Isagi, and Baro boldly claims that to him, Rin is just another Isagi. Isagi, Karasu, and Nagi look on in disbelief at Baro's statement, and as Baro tries to talk further, he is given a yellow card for taking off his jersey. The sportscaster notes Baro's yellow card while Nagi and Karasu walk away, laughing at Baro and his logic.
Isagi confirms that the previous goal was only possible due to Baro's obsession with overcoming Isagi, a super-goal only he could have scored. Though right before that, if Sae Itoshi didn't appear, it would've been Isagi's goal. Thinking back calmly on the play, Isagi notes that Sae aimed directly for the weakness of the direct shot, which was Isagi's core stability. The light tackle at the moment, Isagi got ready to shoot, shaking his core enough to completely destroy his shot while also not fouling him. It may have looked easy, but it was a highly technical play executed in an instant. Isagi thinks that Sae is capable of techniques of a higher dimension than him. The reason why Blue Lock was still able to score though was because of Isagi's exceptional play, Rin's on-point reaction to it all, and Baro's last-second charge that stole the ball and scored a goal. Karasu and Nagi were also involved in that play, and everyone challenging themselves at the same time is what caused that team chemical reaction, or a chain of "trances." To demonstrate a higher performance and achieve trance, one must move while believing in the trance of others. Isagi thinks that trance is the last piece for the fight against the Japan U-20.
On the bench of the Japan U-20, Yasumori Hoichi stands there, distraught at the current situation. He questions what he should do in this situation and thinks about what will happen if they lose. He looks over to Hirotoshi Buratsuta from the spectators' box, who is giving him death stares. Sae walks up to Hoichi and asks him if he has any plans; Hoichi reacts by saying very basic countermeasures, and Sae rudely calls his plan, lacking any originality. Hoichi tells Sae to shut up; he is the coach, and his decisions are made with the future of the team in mind. Sae tells him not to dare make any substitutions unless someone gets injured. Sae proclaims that if Hoichi is truly a coach, he should be able to feel his team's own heat; the Japan U-20 can still fight. Sae is just saying these things as a player, but Hoichi shouldn't pour cold water on his team.
Oliver Aiku and Shuto Sendo tiredly stand on the field, and Aiku asks Sendo if he is frustrated and says that he is too; Blue Lock is amazing. Sendo comments that it's still a tie, and Aiku agrees, saying that it's when the enemy is too strong that the ace rises up and turns the world around. Sendo, fired up, agrees with Aiku. The sportscaster comments that the game has reached its final stage with only 15 minutes left. The Blue Lock Eleven have turned the game into a tie with a counterborn from a desperate defense. The Japan U-20 still have time to counter and win, but will they be able to? Baro puts back on his shirt and tells Isagi to shine even more so that he may devour his light and become the star of the match. Isagi tells him to go ahead and try while Nagi says he's scoring the next one. The rest of the team prepares itself, but Rin stands frustratingly there on the pitch alone. He states that his team needs to stop getting in the way, as the next one to score will be him. Rin has to win this game—he will defeat Sae and carve his name into the world. This story is about him.
