"Shachihoko" (
Summary[]
The sportscaster and commentator are shocked as they see Oliver Aiku singlehandedly stopping Blue Lock's momentum. Teppei Neru says Aiku is on a roll, Haru Hayate asks if Aiku has awakened, and Shuto Sendo states that the team has to catch up to him now. Sae Itoshi gains possession of the ball, and the Japan U-20 swiftly move to attack.
As Sae moves up the field, Tabito Karasu marks him and thinks that if Blue Lock doesn't score the next point, then it's over for them. Karasu tries to stall Sae as much as possible while the defensive line prepares themselves. Yo Hiori sees that Karasu is trying to stall the ball—not steal it—and thinks that it gives him enough time to read the most dangerous outcomes. Meguru Bachira sees that Hiori is covering the weak spots so he can mark Teru Kitsunezato without any worry; Jyubei Aryu sees Bachira move, so he focuses on guarding Kento Cho. Reo Mikage sees that everybody is guarding their routes and that all that is left is guarding the demon, Ryusei Shido. Shido approaches, then performs a quick crossstep through Reo, surprising him, and Reo realizes he can't copy his ability; Shido is challenging him to a simple athletic battle, but Reo can't win. Reo realizes he can barely keep up with Shido as he keeps performing cross steps to get past Reo with ease; Shido's and Sae's timing is just impossible to copy while watching out for both of them. As Reo realizes this, Karasu sees Sae is about to make his move, and Shido prepares himself. Sae kicks a sharp pass to Shido, who moves perfectly to receive it, and Reo prepares himself for the play. Reo sees that Shido is still so far from the goal and that the sharp pass is coming from behind him, but he throws away his doubts because he knows that Shido will score, and Reo starts to physically pressure him.
Gin Gagamaru sees that Reo is putting in all his effort to block Shido, and with someone like him attempting to block Shido, his shooting options will be limited; from Shido's current position, he can only score a goal on Gagamaru's side, so it will either go to the top or bottom of the goal. Gagamaru prepares himself and decides to bet on his instincts to block the goal. Shido shoots the ball, and Gagamaru bets it will go to the bottom, but in midair, while blocking, he realizes the shot is moving towards the top of the net. As Shido shouts in confidence of his shot, Gagamaru thinks that the play is still not over and that he still has a chance to block the shot. While coming down from jumping to block, Gagamaru performs a last-second handstand and intercepts the ball perfectly with his foot, effectively stopping the ball, sending it into the air, and surprising Shido and the sportscaster. With the ball still in play, Reo sees it fly into the air and thinks of a plan of action since Gagamaru is indisposed due to his previous block. Cho and Kitsunezato see the loose ball and prepare to converge it to make a goal. They believe if they can recover the ball, then they can score. The ball falls closer and closer to the ground, and Gagamaru tells Reo to clear the ball by escaping to the corner, but Reo denies this action; he plans to steal possession. Reo looks like he is preparing to strongly kick the ball, but in reality, he is trapping the ball with the tip of his foot, bringing it behind him and tapping it on the ground before turning and kicking the ball out of the penalty zone, copying Nagi's earlier super play, surprising the Japan U-20 forwards and Gagamaru. The ball flies high into the air as the play dumbfounds everybody in the stadium, and the sportscaster announces the surprise save. The ball flies over the midfield and lands swiftly into the hands of Seishiro Nagi, who thanks Reo for the ball and announces Blue Lock's counter to the Japan U-20's counter.
