The story follows the events of Blue Lock from the perspective of the genius prodigy: Seishiro Nagi, exploring his battles and games during the Blue Lock dispute.

The project was eventually announced after the end of the Blue Lock TV series, with confirmation via the official website, along with the second season. Confirming that the spin-off series EPISODE NAGI, would be adapted for film.[2]
